Earth Day, A Junker's Version

We junkers, repurposers, salvagers--we are Earth Day in action, year round.  We take discarded items, things deemed useless by others and recreate them, make them pretty and useful again.  Earth day is OUR holiday and we should celebrate!

Here are few past projects made with materials that otherwise would have ended up most likely in a landfill:

From my first year of blogging, a potting bench made from a barn door I pulled out of a ditch and a playset ladder a freind was throwing out:

In my second year of blogging I made this kitchen island from a deck chair I was going to throw out.

A thrift store find and some scrap wood made a fun table!

This little stool was headed to the trash before I rescued it from a neighbor.

A neighbor's old fence became a handy tote.

Pallet wood became a doggy bed

and finally old, odd junk became a coat hook.

This represents JUST one project from each of my seven years of blogging.  Yes, I think I can celebrate Earth Day and be happy with my contribution to keeping things out of our landfills.  REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!

  1. I love your projects, Becky! It would have been a shame if all those materials you've used would have ended up on a landfill.

  4. I love meeting customers who appreciate that we are recycling. So many truly love that their new treasures have pasts and stories, and have been reincarnated as something new.
