And show time means island building time for me because they are great sellers.
This island started with a decent, solid pallet. Hubby cut skinny pieces of other pallet wood to fill in the spaces. I love the rustic look that came through when I waxed it. I used Annie Sloan dark wax because it is food safe.
I added legs and a bottom shelf to the pallet top. Pretty simple construction.
A fun coat of paint for the legs brigtened them up (paint technique HERE),
I had this metal "pocket" that I found at athrift store a few years ago. It is a great place for cookbooks.
I also had an old school stainless paper towel older for the other end.
I painted a hook and bottle opener silver and added those to the front.
Simple, but fun and versatile--island, potting bench, craft table, outdoor buffet? Where would use this piece?
