Old Door Love and the Wind

I was enjoying my morning cup of coffee yesterday, listening to the bitter cold winds howl at about 40 miles per hour, when CRASH!  Something had become a victim of the wind.

After checking on the usual victims--trampoline, hot tub cover, patio chairs, I discovered my once lovely, chippy old door with previous window, now in about 9 pieces plus a zillion glass shards.

I had it on my very protected front porch and had been using as a photo backdrop.  Oh well...I knew parts is parts and that now, it would find a new life. It didn't me long to come up with a project for a few of the panels.
I gave it a quick sanding to get off flaky paint,
and chalked the word Love,
painted it and added a heart.
Simple and perfect for my less is more winter shelf display.
After all, love is all we need.
