Industrial Barnwood Side Table

An overhead projector?  What is that?

This is what my daughter asked me when I told her that this little cart most likely held an overhead projector.  I didn't even have the luxury of having an overhead my first years teaching and now kids don't even know what they are because they are so old.

Some paint (I used Chalk Paint as my first coat--the red so thr paint adhered well to the metal.)

and a barnwood top secured with screws from the underside

transformed this out of date school fixture

into a fun rolling table.  A bonus is the height can be adjusted.

  1. Love it! Did you sand any? Or did you start with the red chalk paint, then add the other colors? Thanks!

  9. Awesome job!

I have one of those in my garage. The best part is, it still has the overhead projector sitting on it. :)

Cute idea ... maybe mine might get something like that done to it when the time comes.

  12. Becky - I love what you've done with this little table. I am itching to get to work on a metal typewriter desk (I think)that I got from my father-in-law's garage. I plan to do the same thing you did . . . removing a particle board top and using old boards across the top. Aren't we blessed to be able to do this type of work? I LOVE it!
