Great Crate Storage

A dear friend moved :(, I grabbed items from their garage that wouldn't fit in the moving truck like any good friend would do :).  I spotted these crates right away--they originally held heavy duty tire chains from Sweden.
I stacked them up, screwed them together,

added an extra piece of wood across the front of each of them,

slapped on some red, green, and turquoise paint in that order, with some stain over the top and stain on the inside of the crates,

added some locking casters and ended up with a piece with endless storage options: in a mudroom for shoes and hats and mittens, for sports equipment, in a kitchen for potatoes and onions, in a kid's room for toys and books.

Sorry pictures don't show some of the fun possibilities, I snapped these right before it was loaded up for Farmer's Market (where it sold ).
